Their contribution helped make it possible for us to provide menstrual health education and essential reusable sanitary products to girls in underserved communities. While this project was made possible through the combined efforts of partners, volunteers, and supporters, RYTHM Foundation’s support played an important role in helping us reach more girls with dignity, care, and practical resources. PROJECT SUMMARY
The Period Essentials Project was created to support schoolgirls who face barriers to education because of limited access to menstrual hygiene products and accurate menstrual health education.
In June 2026, KAT Foundation successfully delivered reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education to 200 female students across two public Junior High Schools in Ejura, Ghana.
The project helped promote dignity, confidence, hygiene, and school reproductive health. attendance among girls who may otherwise miss school during their Community-centered support menstrual cycle

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The project was originally planned to align with World Menstrual Health Day on May 28. Due to the national Eid holidays, the program was rescheduled and successfully completed on June 4, 2026.
Although heavy rains delayed the start of the program on the donation day. the team, school leadership, teachers, students, and resource persons worked together to ensure a successful event. The cooperation and patience shown by the schools helped make the project meaningful and impactful.

CHALLENGES & LESSONS LEARNED
Every community project brings important lessons. During the Period Essentials Project, the team navigated several challenges, including weather delays, scheduling changes due to holidays, and product delivery logistics from Kumasi to Ejura.
These experiences helped strengthen our planning, supplier coordination, communication, and on the-ground execution.
Moving forward, KAT Foundation will continue improving project timelines, contingency planning, transportation arrangements, and stakeholder communication to make future projects even more effective.

LOOKING AHEAD
The completion of the Period Essentials Project is only the beginning. KAT Foundation hopes to expand this initiative to more schools and communities across Ghana.
